Something New Is Coming at Streema…

Hi!

We’re writing today because we wanted to give you a heads up that next week we’ll be announcing something new at Streema. It’s something that we’ve been wanting to do for a long time, but it was not until this year that we felt we could work on it.

We can’t say more right now, but soon you’ll find out – and we know many of you Streema users will be happy about it. 🙂

Stay tuned!

Happy Holidays for all of Us

It’s the end of the year, a time for reflection, wishes and projections. But before we get into that, we would like to talk about “us” as a whole: people who listen to radio, people who express their ideas, people who develop features, people who report bugs, people who fix them… there are many of us and today we want to talk about us all.

YOU are the most important part of all this. Every day on Streema, you listen to thousands of stations, write comments on the station’s profile walls, send us loads of suggestions via the contact form and Facebook application, and even tweet about Streema!  Without you nothing would make sense.

WE have been developing this project since 2007 and we’re pretty happy to say it’s been a great journey. Streema has been a big part of our lives with lots of successes and failures. We’re still a small team (that’s why more than once we ask you to be patient with us) but the four of us are as committed as ever to make Streema a success.

Streema Team, from left to right: Juan, Martín, JC and Ricky.

WE are Streema and YOU are Streema. So, to all of the Streema fans out there: THANK YOU for being part of our journey. We wish you a great holiday season!

Stay tuned!

PS: We’ve got a little surprise for you in the works, but you’ll need to wait till early 2011 to find out. 😉

Streema on Twitter

Follow streema on TwitterMuch has been written and said about Twitter during the past year.  For those who don’t know, Twitter is an information network that enables its users to post messages of up to 140 characters and share “what’s happening right now”.

The service provides real-time information from people all over the world and interestingly enough, it has been used in many situations:  ranging from emergencies, to political campaigns, to even business opportunities.  In many cases, Twitter helps generate reliable information, assistance, and activism – good examples are the way it was used during Haiti’s earthquake and last year’s Iranian elections.

Today, we are talking about it here at Streema because there has been a lot of buzz related to our website on Twitter recently, particularly after the Jonas Brothers appeared on Radio Disney‘s studios – you can check it out here!

While we’re at it, make sure to follow our latest news over there too!

Happy Birthday to The Streema Blog!

Today, April 22nd, 2009, is a special date:  “The Streema Blog” has just turned a year old!   Happy Birthday!

So… during the last 12 months we’ve mostly posted news about Streema.com and our two Facebook applications , but we’ve also written about radios, music and other news we thought was important for our community.

When we created this blog one year ago, we did it to have another channel to enhance the communication with our users, mainly because we wanted to receive feedback about our work.

Looking back, we’re glad to say that it hasn’t been a bad decision after the scores of comments and all the emails we’ve received because of it. To be honest, we haven’t been strong writers (24 posts in total), but hey, between a bunch of engineers and a math guy, who could expect more!?  😛

Anyway, thank you for being with us until now.  We expect 2009, and our blog’s 2nd year, to be a great one!
Stay tuned!

Happy Holidays!

It’s almost the end of the year and it’s time to reflect on the last 12 months.  It has been a hectic year for everyone between the Olympics, the global financial crisis, the US Presidential elections, and other global events, so we hope listening to radio has made it a more enjoyable ride.  🙂

For us at Streema, 2008 has been a great year: we launched a completely new design for Streema.com, two Facebook applications and the blog you are now reading.  Once again, we wanted to thank you because without your comments, feedback and suggestions, Streema wouldn’t be what it is today.

What awaits for 2009?  It’ll be even busier for us than this past year, so fasten your seatbelts radio listeners!

Anyway, we don’t want to end this blog post without the traditional end-of-the year wishes, so here we go: HAPPY HOLIDAYS, and more than ever, stay tuned!
